On September 20, 2018, at Hostos Community College, Project ARTE SANA is hosting its first Annual Fundraiser and Live Art Auction. The proceeds of this fundraising effort by project ARTE SANA will be used to save and renovate the landmark Villa Carmen Atelier building, continue its programing and support the artists of Puerto Rico. 

This Art Auction is the product of an intensive artistic initiative between New York City and Puerto Rico, where we will be auctioning art pieces from renowned artists and collectors from both countries.

Arte Sana proudly invites the National Jazz Foundation to collaborate in honoring Latino Music Icon Joe Quijano. During the evening, this living legend of Puerto Rican music will receive a plaque from the Mayor's office or New York City declaring September 20th "Joe Quijano Day" in honor of his contribution to Latino Culture. As part of the ceremony, we are also thrilled to invite National Academy of American Poets chancellor Victor Hernandez Cruz to present a reading to mark the occasion.
